Aradia, mia Aradia, You, with the moon in your step, You, with the moon in your feet, clad in the sky, covered in starlight, grant me this favor benevolent spirit, Altar of Diana, daughter of the moon, I will walk in your moon steps; I will dance; I will leap; I will eat; I will drink; I will learn your mother’s craft, the witch’s craft, the crafty knowledge. The Ancient Egyptian Pyramid...

Excerpts From the Pyramid Texts

The Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts Translated into English

by R. O. Faulkner, Aris & Phillips, Warminster, England, 1969

Hymn 1:

I say by Nut, the brilliant, the great: This is my son, my first born, opener of my womb; this is my beloved, with whom I have been satisfied.

Hymn 20

O King, I have come in search of you, for I am Horus; I have struck your mouth for you, for I am your beloved son; I have split open your mouth for you. I announce him to his mother when she laments him, I announce him to her who was joined to him. Your mouth is in good order, for I have adjusted your mouth to your bones.

Hymn 211

My detestation is hunger, and I will never eat it. My detestation is thirst, and I will never drink it. It is indeed I who will give bread to those who exist, for my foster-mother is Iat and it is she who nourishes me, it is indeed she who bore me. I was conceived in the night, I was born in the night, I belong to those who are in the suite of Ra, who are before the Morning Star. I was conceived in the Abyss, I was born in the Abyss; I have come and I have brought to you the bread which I found there.

Hymn 217

O Thoth, go and proclaim to the western gods and their spirits: `This King comes indeed, an imperishable spirit, adorned with Anubis on the neck, who presides over the Western Height. He claims hearts, he has power over hearts. Whom he wishes to live will live; whom he wishes to die will die.’

Hymn 260

My limbs which were in concealment are reunited, and I join those who are in the Abyss, I put a stop to the affair in On, for I go forth today in the real form of a living spirit, that I may break up the fight and cut off the turbulent ones. I come forth, the guardian of justice, that I may bring it, it being with me; the wrathful ones bustle about for me and those who are in the Abyss assign life to me.

Hymn 306

How lovely to see! How pleasing to behold! say they, namely the gods, when this god ascends to the sky, when you ascend to the sky with your power upon you, your terror about you, and your magic at your feet. Geb has acted on your behalf in accordance with the manner in which things should be done for you.

Hymn 307

The king declares his right to join the gods: An Onite (character) is in me, O! God; your Onite (character) is in me, O! God; an Onite (character) is in me, O! Ra; your Onite (character) is in me, O! Ra. My mother is an Onite, my father is an Onite, and I myself am an Onite, born in On when Ra was ruler of the Two Enneads and the ruler of the plebs was Nefertem, (even I) who have no equal, the heir of my father Geb.

Hymn 355

O! King, your head is knit to your bones for you, and your bones are knit to your head for you. The doors of the sky are opened to you, the great bolts are drawn back for you, the brick is drawn out of the great tomb for you.

Hymn 357

O! Osiris the King, Geb has given you your eyes, that you may be content with the eyes of this Great One in you; Geb has caused that Horus give them to you, so that you may be pleased with them. Isis and Nephthys have seen and found you, Horus has reassembled you, Horus has caused Isis and Nephthys to protect you, they have given you to Horus and he is pleased with you. It goes well with Horus in your company in your name of `Horizon from which Ra goes forth’; in your embrace in your name of `Inmate of the Palace’. You have closed your arms about him, and his bones are in due order, his heart is proud.

O! Osiris the King, mount up to Horus, betake yourself to him, do not be far from him. Horus has come that he may recognize you; he has smitten Seth for you bound, and you are his fate. Horus has driven him off for you, for you are greater than he; he swims bearing you; he lifts up one who is greater than he in you, and his followers have seen you, that your strength is greater than his, so that they cannot thwart you. Horus comes and recognizes his father in you, you being young in your name of ‘Fresh Water’; Horus has split open your mouth for you.

O! King, do not languish, do not groan, for Geb has brought Horus to you that he may claim their hearts for you; he has brought all the gods to you at once, and there is none of them who can escape from him. Horus has protected you, and he will not fail to protect you; Horus has wrested his Eye from Seth and has given it to you, (even) this his sweet Eye. Make it come back to you, assign it to yourself, and may it belong to you. Isis has reassembled you, the heart of Horus is glad about you in this your name of ‘Foremost of the Westerners’, and it is Horus who will make good what Seth has done to you.

~Aleister Crowley~
“ARCADIA, night, a cloud,...

THE SPENDTHRIFT

~Aleister Crowley~

“ARCADIA, night, a cloud, Pan, and the moon.” What words

to conjure with, what five shouts to slay the five senses, and

set a leaping flame of emerald and silver dancing about us as

we yell them forth under the oaks and over the rocks and

myrtle of the hill-side. “Bruised to the breast of Pan”—

let us flee church, and chapel, and meeting-room; let us

abandon this mantle of order, and leap back to the heaths,

and the marshes, and the hills; back to the woods, and the

glades of night! back to the old gods, and the ruddy lips

of Pan!

How the torches splutter in the storm, pressing warm

kisses of gold on the gnarled and knotted trunks of the beech

trees! How the fumigation from musk and myrrh whirls

up in anaromatic cloud from the glowing censer!—how for a

time it greedily clings to the branches, and then is wafted to

the stars! Look!—as we invoke them, how they gather

round us, these Spirit of Love and of Life, of Passion, of

Strength, and of Abandon—these sinews of the manhood of

the World!

O mystery of mysteries! “For each one of the Gods is in

all, and all are in each, being ineffably united to each other

and to God; because each, being a super-essential unity, their

conjunction with each other is a union of unities.” Hence

each is all; thus Nature squanders the gold and silver of our

understanding, till in panic frenzy we beat our head on the

storm-washed boulders and the blasted trunks, and shout

forth, “Io … Io … Io … Evoe! Io … Io!” till the glades

thrill as with the music of syrinx an sistrum, and our souls are

rent asunder on the flaming horns of Pan.

Invocation of Aradia

Aradia is a famous witch from Italian pagan folk mythology who is said to be the daughter of the Goddess Diana and her Brother/Son/Consort Lucifer. In Charles G Lelland’s Aradia: Gospel of the Witches Aradia is instructed to come to earth as an avatar to teach the oppressed the old ways of witchcraft so they could use it against the ruling Roman Catholic Church in their fight for freedom.

Aradia is seen as a teaching spirit guide/ally through the studies of magick, occult philosophy, personal growth, and the creation of personal gnosis.

In a circle light a white candle and face North. Arms in the air, palms facing the sky.

Aradia! Aradia!
Strange curves: and every Curve a Number woven into a Musical and Harmonious Pattern.

Such was the design showed me by my friend when first we met.

It was like an exchange of greetings by means of an inward recognition.

Oh! Could I but grasp the Ever-changing Design of Thy Star Body, Mother of Heaven!

Yet, it is written: “Every man and every woman is a star. Every number is infinite, there is no difference.”

Such then is Life, for those who love Thee: Strange Curves, and every Curve a Number woven into a Musical and Harmonious Design.

Khepera was specifically...

Khepera is a form of the sun-god Re. Khepera was specifically the god of the rising sun. He was self-produced and usually depicted as a human with a beetle on his head, or sometimes with the beetle as his head. His name comes from the Egyptian word, kheprer or “to become”.

Khepera is the manifestation of the rising sun. Khepera would roll the sun along the sky, much as the dung beetle rolls a ball of dung in front of him (sometimes the Khepera was also shown pushing the moon through the sky). This ball of dung is what it lays its eggs in. The beetle larvae eat the ball of dung after they hatch. The Egyptians would see the beetle roll a ball of dung into a hole and leave. Later, when many dung beetles emerged from the hole, it would seem as though they created themselves. Khepera also had this attribute of self-generation and self-renewal.

The particular dung beetle the Egyptians identified with Khepera was the Scarabaeus sacer.

Egyptian account of the Creation.

In a late copy of a work entitled the “Book of knowing the evolutions of Ra, the god Neb-er-tcher, the “lord of the company of the gods,” records the story of the creation and of the birth of the gods:

“I am he who evolved himself under the form of the god Khepera, I, the evolver of the evolutions evolved myself, the evolver of all evolutions, after many evolutions and developments which came forth from my mouth. No heaven existed, and no earth, and no terrestrial animals or reptiles had come into being. I formed them out of the inert mass of watery matter, I found no place whereon to stand … . . I was alone, and the gods Shu and Tefnut had not gone forth from me; there existed “none other who worked with me. I laid the foundations of all things by my will, and all things evolved themselves therefrom. I united myself to my shadow, and I sent forth Shu and Tefnut out from myself; thus from being one god I became three, and Shu and Tefnut gave birth to Nut and Seb, and Nut gave birth to Osiris, Horus-Khent-an-maa, Sut, Isis, and Nephthys, at one birth, one after the other, and their children multiply upon this earth.”

Muse, tell me about Pan, the dear son of Hermes, with his goat’s feet and two horns — a lover of merry noise. Through wooded glades he wanders with dancing nymphs who foot it on some sheer cliff’s edge, calling upon Pan, the shepherd-god, long- haired, unkempt. He has every snowy crest and the mountain peaks and rocky crests for his domain; hither and thither he goes through the close thickets, now lured by soft streams, and now he presses on amongst towering crags and climbs up to the highest peak that overlooks the flocks. Often he courses through the glistening high mountains, and often on the shouldered hills he speeds along slaying wild beasts, this keen-eyed god. Only at evening, as he returns from the chase, he sounds his note, playing sweet and low on his pipes of reed: not even she could excel him in melody — that bird who in flower-laden spring pouring forth her lament utters honey-voiced song amid the leaves. At that hour the clear-voiced nymphs are with him and move with nimble feet, singing by some spring of dark water, while Echo wails about the mountain-top, and the god on this side or on that of the choirs, or at times sidling into the midst, plies it nimbly with his feet. On his back he wears a spotted lynx-pelt, and he delights in high-pitched songs in a soft meadow where crocuses and sweet-smelling hyacinths bloom at random in the grass.

They sing of the blessed gods and high Olympus and choose to tell of such an one as luck-bringing Hermes above the rest, how he is the swift messenger of all the gods, and how he came to Arcadia, the land of many springs and mother of flocks, there where his sacred place is as god fo Cyllene. For there, though a god, he used to tend curly-fleeced sheep in the service of a mortal man, because there fell on him and waxed strong melting desire to wed the rich-tressed daughter of Dryops, and there be brought about the merry marriage. And in the house she bare Hermes a dear son who from his birth was marvellous to look upon, with goat’s feet and two horns — a noisy, merry-laughing child. But when the nurse saw his uncouth face and full beard, she was afraid and sprang up and fled and left the child. Then luck-bringing Hermes received him and took him in his arms: very glad in his heart was the god. And he went quickly to the abodes of the deathless gods, carrying the son wrapped in warm skins of mountain hares, and set him down beside Zeus and showed him to the rest of the gods. Then all the immortals were glad in heart and Bacchie Dionysus in especial; and they called the boy Pan because he delighted all their hearts.

Modern inventions...

What can we expect during the Age of Aquarius?

Modern inventions such as televisions and computers will make us less personal. We can now entertain ourselves without the human interaction once required. We can feel like we are a part of the whole without ever leaving our own space and this results in a kind of emotional detachment. Although modes of transportation have increased our ability to easily experience more of the surrounding environment, we may suffer from increased feelings of isolation as the continued lack of face to face human interaction and companionship takes a backseat. To combat this tendency, we may discover that it has become necessary to finally leave the comfort of our personal space and join with others once again. In fact, it may become the key to survival, only this time we will find ourselves a part of the larger group. The individuality experienced while in autonomous mode must now be made to align with something much larger and more inclusive. Our new identity will be with the group and we will now be required to express more of our unique individuality within the confines of the group welfare. We may see the emotional (more volatile) group mind replaced to a large extent by the logical (colder) group mind. Hopefully, mankind will be able to successfully merge not only his logical intellect, but his compassionate heart as well, into this new environment. Until the transition is complete, all on this planet may witness some pretty bizarre events begin to unfold as we attempt to bring the best from what we have learned during the watery Age of Pisces into the new electric Age of Aquarius.

Barlasti ompala. In the name of the Mighty and Terrible One, I proclaim that I have banished the shells unto their habitations. I invoke Tahuti, the Lord of Wisdom and of Utterance; the god that cometh forth from the veil. Oh thou, majesty of the godhead, wisdom-crowned Tahuti, Lord of the gates of the universe. Thee, thee I invoke. Oh thou of the ibis head. Thee, thee I invoke. Thou who wieldest the wand of double power. Thee, thee I invoke. Thou who bearest in thy left hand the rose and cross of light and life. Thee, thee I invoke. Thou whose head is as an emerald, and thy nemyss as the night sky blue. Thee, thee I invoke. Thou whose skin is a flaming orange as though it burned in a furnace. Thee, thee I invoke.

Behold, I am yesterday, today, and the brother of tomorrow. I am born again and again. Mine is the unseen force whereof the gods are sprung, which is as life unto the dwellers in the Watchtowers of the Universe. I am the charioteer of the east; Lord of the past and the future. I see by my own inward light; Lord of resurrection who cometh forth from the dust, and my birth is from the house of death. Oh ye two Divine hawks upon your pinnacles who keep watch over the universe.

Ye who company the Bier to the house of rest, who pilot the ship of Ra, ever advancing onwards the heights of heaven. Lord of the shrine which standeth in the center of the earth. Behold! He is me and I in him. Mine is the radiance wherein Ptah floateth over the firmament. I travel upon high. I tread upon the firmament of Nu. I raise a flashing flame with the lightening of mine eye. Ever rushing on in the splendor of the daily glorified Ra, giving my life to the dwellers of earth. If I say come up upon the mountain, the celestial waters shall flow at my command. For I am Ra incarnate, Kephra created in the flesh. I am the idolar of my father Tnu, Lord of the city of the sun. The god who commands is in my mouth. The god of wisdom is in my heart. My tongue is the sanctuary of truth and a god sitteth upon my lips. My word is accomplished every day, and the desire of my heart realizes itself as that of Ptah when he created his works. I am eternal, therefore all things are as my designs. Therefore do thou come forth unto me from thine abode in the silence, unutterable wisdom, all light or power.

Thoth. Hermes. Mercury. Odin. By whatever name I call thee thou art still nameless to eternity. Come thou forth I say, and aid and guard me in this work of art. Thou star of the east that didst conduct the magi. Thou art the same all present in heaven and in hell. Thou that vibratest between the light and the darkness, rising, descending, changing ever, yet ever the same. The sun is thy father; thy mother the moon. The wind hath borne thee in it’s bosom and earth hath ever nourished the changeless god head of thy youth. Come thou forth I say, come thou forth and make every spirit of the firmament and of the ether, upon the earth and under the earth, on dry land and in the water, of whirling air and of rushing fire, and every spell and scourge of God the Vast One may be obedient unto me.
